Relearn & Retest
In a Standards Referenced classroom, a test is not the end of learning. Every standard we study is necessary for an understanding of how the world works, so standards already mastered become the foundation for the next topics of study. Therefore, every learner must show a level of understanding of each standard, in order to build a strong foundation.
Students are individuals, with individual learning styles and needs. If needs are not fullly met, some standards may not be mastered. When a student shows incomplete understanding of a standard in assessment, a Relearn/Retest process is needed. When the process is followed and improved learning is proven by assessment, final grades are revised to reflect the new learning.
